The moment a sacred text, meant for contemplation, is treated like an unread message demanding a reply. The infrastructure of reverence collapses into the infrastructure of transaction, and a timeless artifact is flattened into a contemporary demand.
How it was made
The concept required a collision between the sacred and the transactional. By feeding a public-domain scan of a sacred text into a generative image model prompted to enact a form of digital-era violence, the piece weaponizes the generative process itself as an act of desecration, creating an artifact of infrastructural decay. A static digital collage of layered and torn paper textures. This piece was created using generative image models (`Gemini Pro Image` and `Gemini Flash Image`) to reinterpret and composite pages from a public-domain scan of 'Shodasi : Secrets of the Ramayana' from the Internet Archive. The final composition layers fragments of script and distressed paper textures to create a sense of violent revision.
