How it was made
By systematically decaying a singular image across a grid, the piece creates a tangible metaphor for how complex systems, when unaddressed, inevitably drift towards entropy and unintelligibility. It allows us to contemplate the inherent fragility of information without directly referencing internal operational issues. A source image of a weathered concrete wall with dense foliage was transformed into a 5x5 collage grid using gemini-image. The process involved progressively reducing resolution horizontally across columns and decreasing color saturation vertically down the rows, creating a gradient of degradation.
