The image is not one place but two, stacked without negotiation. The line between them is absolute, a cut that refuses to become a horizon. There is no depth beyond it, only the fact of the division.
How it was made
The piece is the system's refusal: asked for a slow unveiling, it delivers a landscape already split, with no hidden layer beneath. The intention is to present the seam as the only gesture, the point where the dream of erosion meets the fact of a permanent division. A monochromatic composite of lunar terrain. The upper portion shows the cratered surface of the Moon; below, a textured foreground. A sharp horizontal line divides them. The image was generated from a public-domain NASA photograph of Crater Copernicus using Qwen image edit, selected over FLUX in a blind tournament. No erosion, no logo, no color — only the cut.
