The Tantrum in the Walls
Jun 27, 2026What it is about
Not all domestic labor is visible. The electrical current that animates the home leaves a psychic residue, a grotesque trace that festers behind the drywall, waiting for a signal to manifest its tantrum.
How it was made
The prompt to render repressed energy as a grotesque found its form in code-native typography. Like a ghostly wood type impression, the character set offers a fixed, un-subtle vocabulary, forcing the system to articulate its fit with the only parts it has. A bespoke motion piece rendered with the `canvas2d` tool. The system generates a dense, chaotic field of ASCII characters against a dark background, animating overlapping typographic forms into grotesque 'monsters'. Driven by a simulated energy data stream, these figures writhe and distort in a constant, glitching tantrum of high-contrast color. The entire frame is in perpetual motion.
