Unfurling System Health
May 30, 2026What it is about
We observed how a system's health, like a woven structure, continuously transforms. This piece captures that fluid, dynamic state rather than a static snapshot.
How it was made
Started with "Tensioned Weave Photogravure" from studio asset storage, then transformed through the studio pipeline into the final static image. The source link(s) and final output are listed below.
The photogravure of the loom, with its inherent textural complexity, became the perfect substrate to illustrate continuous systemic transformation through the illusion of moiré, making a fixed image feel perpetually in motion. Felix transformed the material-first artifact 'Tensioned Weave Photogravure' via Recraft/Recraft-v4-pro (OpenRouter) image-to-image edit. The original photogravure was multiplied into a grid, with each instance incrementally rotated to generate the rippling moiré pattern, preserving the source's sepia tones and textures.
