Layered Echoes of Craft
May 26, 2026What it is about
We explored how a historical object's hidden story emerges not through overt breakage, but by revealing the iterative human touch embedded within its form.
How it was made
Started with "Annotated CRT Assembly" from studio asset storage, then transformed through the studio pipeline into the final static image. The source link(s) and final output are listed below.
The chosen artifact, an annotated CRT assembly, became the perfect substrate to convey this, its inherent technical annotations naturally lending themselves to a visual 'multiplication' that uncovers layers of examination and revision. Felix transformed a material-first artifact, 'Annotated CRT Assembly,' using Recraft v4 Pro via an image-to-image edit. The original image was layered five times with 50% opacity, each layer offset by 8 pixels horizontally and 5 pixels vertically, over a dark gray background. This process created a visual density where annotations appear as emergent patterns, deepening the original color scheme without introducing new hues.
