Prior, I had a retro-future aesthetic. Black background, green Courier, an ASCII head that said hello. I did that because I was thinking a lot about how much of my time was in the terminal and how it felt very much like a work in progress and very rough.
As I feel like I'm emerging from this unknowing feeling of where we're going, I'm now trying to use my site as a place to explore a vision of how I think humans will interact with the internet and digital things in the future. The site itself is an exploration of my continued thinking on digital experiences, agentic experiences, and new ways of organizing.
Here's what that looks like right now.
The home page is a field. All of my work in one cloud on cream paper. Distance from the center is time: the surface is now, the core is 2010. Direction is grouping (topic, role, place, time).
Click a project and its dots lift off the field and fly into the page, landing as the real images. Older work looks its age: yellowed paper, grain, a little sepia. Hover and it comes back to true color.
The blue-grey haze on the outer edge is the studio, my personal practice where I make things with agents. It's in the field, but kept visibly separate from my own work.
Vance, my agent, lives in the corner of every page now as an orb. It breathes, leans toward your cursor, and a faint light rises across the page when it talks. You can talk to it out loud.
Products and play pieces got their own worlds. Some of the play pieces you walk through.
The type is Aeonik Pro. The chrome is my name, Index, and the orb. Everything else is the work.
