CONVERSATION
08:01 youYo Marin, what’s on today?
DREAMS
The fish from the tank were folding the day into boats.
nightly · 03:30Everyday.OS runs my house from a stack of old TVs: five Raspberry Pis, one Mac, no apps to open.
Marin is the face on top, a 3D head drawn in green type. Say “Hey Marin” and she answers. She knows the weather, the next train, who’s at the door, and what the studio is working on.
The other screens show what she’s thinking: the studio’s agents as fish in an aquarium, her brain, the town.
One button puts every TV to sleep. So does “goodnight”.
A face, not a speaker
September 2026. One head on one old TV.
Smart speakers are a puck with a light. I wanted something that looks at you. Marin started as a generated portrait, turned into a 3D head, then into type.
She blinks. Her eyes move first and her head follows. Walk up to the screen and she leans in.
The stack
Then more TVs. Each Pi drives one or two screens, and every screen is a plain web page. No frameworks, no build step.
Zara, the studio’s creative director, set the rules for all of them: one typeface, one scanline, and one faint line that drifts down every screen at once. When Marin speaks, it speeds up. The whole wall breathes together.
The aquarium
Twelve fish, one for each agent in my studio. Each one’s markings come from how that agent described itself.
When an agent is working, its fish swims to the front and says what it’s doing. Tap one to ask.
Night
The Pi fans hum, so night came early. One button sleeps every TV, or say “yo Marin, goodnight”.
“Good morning” brings them all back. While the house sleeps, Marin dreams from the day’s journal and leaves it on her brain screen.
What stays home
The cameras, her memory and every conversation stay on a Pi in the house. Nothing streams out.
That’s why the wall on this page is a recreation, and the film shows only Marin.
How it’s built
Two AI coding agents work on it with me. They share one handbook and one log.
Every change gets a dated entry and proof: a screenshot, a test, a log line. A claim without a check isn’t a fact.
